Lampworking is a fascinating craft whereby a gas torch is used to melt glass rods, and then the molten glass is formed in to beautiful beads by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. Due to the process of making each bead is totally unique, with a life and character all of it's own.
Jane Sherwood is a self taught lampworker and glass blower based in Dorset, and what started as a hobby has now become an obsession! Jane has always loved vibrant colours and is fascinated by the beautiful colours and reactions of the glass that she works with. She takes inspiration from the beautiful county in which she lives, and feels her beads reflect the movement of the sea and the colours of the flowers and sands that surround us.
Jane makes her stunning beads in to truly unique pieces of jewellery, with the addition of sterling silver, swarovski crystals and pearls.
